Chayote Pork Ribs Soup

Chayote Pork Ribs Soup 合掌瓜排骨汤

A light soup that can be easily prepared. Nutritious for the young children as well!

  • 1 pack of spare ribs
  • 2 chayote
  • 2 medium sized carrots
  • 2 red dates pitted and rinsed
  • 1 honey date rinsed
  • 1.5 L-2L water


  1. Blanch pork ribs in a small pot of boiling water for about 5 mins.
  2. Remove pork ribs from pot and rinse off scum.
  3. Peel the chayote and carrots. Cut the carrots into small chunks.
  4. Bring the 1.5L of water to boil in another medium sized soup pot.
  5. Once water is boiling, add in all ingredients.
  6. Bring to a rolling boil for about 20mins, before turning lower heat to simmer for 2-3 hours.

  7. Serve warm.

You can also add in one pc of corn, chopped.
