This soup is a type of Chinese soup, simmered with pork ribs and sweet carrots 🙂 Chayote is also known as 佛手瓜 / 合掌瓜 in Chinese, which can be widely found in wet markets and supermarkets locally.
It has been quite a while since I have tried making cookies! Do you like crunchy or chewy cookies? Before Subway cookies became a hit, I remember most of us loving those crunchy chocolate chip cookies. If you love crunchy cookies with melty, oozy chocolate chips, you would love these!
Ever since my younger daughter is born, I have been trying to find cheat meals or food that can be prepared easily. Especially now that she is also eating the usual food that we eat, time can be really tight to put 3 meals and 2 snacks on the table lol! So I was very glad to come across some no-knead bread recipes. I quite like this recipe, since it can be either baked in the oven or cooked over the pan (yay to flexibility!), and the texture can be considered quite fluffy for a no-knead bread! I find… Read More
Cute Panda Bread in a Cone! I made this cute bread for my toddler for Children’s Day this year. Every year for Children’s Day, I will try to prepare some treats for her while she travels to her childcare centre. And she would be really happy, it’s like a treat day for them as they usually also have a party on that day. So when she saw this cute panda bread in cone that morning, she was really very happy and excited!
It was a fun Children’s Day for us this year! In the past few years, I would have been busy baking for orders. However, for now, I decided to focus more on the children and readjusted my priorities. So for the month of Sept and Oct we had so much fun together!
This is a simple loaf of soft white bread, which is easy even for beginners. You can either bake it in the bread machine, or in the oven. Great for everyday kind of bread! I was revisiting some of my older posts and recipes that I tried years ago. And I came to this 5 Stars Soft White Bread by a Japanese author, which I really like back then 🙂
These days I love frying up pork chops. I super love the nostalgic taste that comes with it, which seems to transport me back to my childhood days! My toddler also love pork chops – be it simple soy sauce and pepper marinade, or more flavourful one like this – she loves them all!
By the time our babies can start some solid food, it would be a great milestone! Or at least it is to me, haha! For my elder daughter, I started her on puree around 5m2w, to see if she was okay with the swallowing, before moving on to finger food. For my younger daughter, she had been licking her lips when she saw us eating, since the time when she was about 4m old. I was really happy then, thinking, oh yay, I am finally having a non-picky eater. LOL, I just didn’t have any idea what is going… Read More
Barley drink is something I grew up with on this sunny island, and it was one of the first few recipes I learnt in my Home Econs class! I later on also grew to love those packet lemon barley drink – however which, somehow, I just cannot replicate the taste lol! Well, it’s not unexpected right. Since it is mostly flavorings in these packet drinks!
