We held our wedding dinner at Carlton Hotel. Initially, I we were looking at Amara Sanctuary at Sentosa, Straits Ballroom at Fullerton Hotel, or even restaurants like White Rabbit. In the end we decided to hold it at Carlton Hotel because we wanted the Holy Matrimony in church. It was the nearest hotel to church anyway 🙂 Service had been quite warm on the wedding night. Even the coordinator who wasn’t very good with her words/EQ, had been warm and accommodating. The only complaint we had is the tea smoked chicken. We quite liked that dish during the food tasting,… Read More
Our Wedding – Church (Part 2)
I am not a jewellery lover, I chose to go simple on the wedding day. I only had my cross necklace with a pair of Chomel earrings lol. I was so glad I got that pair of earrings because I am certain I wouldn’t wear that again after the wedding. And true enough, I didn’t have any chance to wear that again ;p Most of the details in the wedding was kept classy and simple (I hope I did that!), and I was happy with the ceremony 🙂 I can’t seem to post the YouTube video here, so if you’re… Read More
Our Wedding – Church (Part 1)
After the tea ceremony and lunch at my parents-in-law’s house, we headed for the hotel. Thankfully we could do an early check-in, and my bridesmaids all crash into the suite to do their hair/make-up. I think it’s nice for everyone to be in the same room, at least can keep each other occupied lol. I reached the church just in time for the ceremony, so I missed out on the preparation and reception time. I was quite panicky when we were still in the hotel 10 mins before the Holy Matrimony takes place lol. Not to mention the hubby, who… Read More
Our Wedding – Gatecrash
Finally gotten our wedding photos! Been lazy in updating the blog ;p Because once I have time, I’d rather take a nap lol. GATECRASH & TEA CEREMONY I don’t have any makeup photos because my makeup artist “offered” to come at 6am, when she knew the gatecrash was only at 8.30am, and PG/VG will come at 7+am. She specifically said the makeup needs to take about 2 hours, yet before my friends arrived at 7.30am, I am already dressed in my gown. I somehow feel that they only wanted me to pay the surcharge for early makeup. She could have… Read More
Bugis Junction Food Trail #9 and #10: Yummi Bites & Maggie Moo
Finally our #9 and #10 stops! 🙂 I think if I remembered correctly, by then we were quite bursting from the food that we have had the entire afternoon. 6 hours of non-stop nomming. Hahaha. #9 stop – Yummi Bites! Yummi Bites specialise in fried fritters, and their signature is the super crispy batter. I brought the snack home because I really could not eat anymore lol. And I was quite surprised that the oil didn’t even seep through the paper packaging! They have interesting fritters like curry bomb, durian fritter, nian gao 3-in-1 fritters, etc. Check out their flavours… Read More
Bugis Junction Food Trail #8: Hong Guo
Next up, Hong Guo is the #8 stop for our Bugis Junction Food Trail! Hong Guo serves Yunnan and Si Chuan cuisine. One of their specialty is the 过桥米线. I have always walked past the restaurant and wondered what is 过桥米线 hehe. 过桥米线 includes a big bowl (or pot? haha) of soup, along with15 ingredients. And it seems that there is a sequence to put these ingredients into the bowl 🙂 The staff putting in all the ingredients for us. I quite like this, because the soup is not too oily, yet tasted really sweet and nourishing…. Read More
Bugis Junction Food Trail #7: Fish & Co
Here’s #7 in our Bugis Junction Food Trail: Fish & Co! Fish & Co specialises in unique Mediterranean style – all in a pan! You’ll find tempting, fresh seafood served in a pan, with rice or fries. From what I remembered, Fish & Co has come a long way. It was a pretty good place to go on dates during my poly days (haha). And now, the menu has undergone some revamp! The new menu Mussels in Spicy Marinara Sauce: Featuring blue mussels cooked in marinara sauce. It comes with warm bread. I was staying off shelled… Read More
Bugis Junction Food Trail #6: nydc
After all the hearty portions of savoury food, it’s half-time for desserts! We were all pretty glad to have our #6 stop at nydc for some yummy sweet treats! nydc has been pretty well-known for it’s desserts, especially the mudpie. A great place to chill out with big groups of friends. Or it is also suitable for a romantic date. I remembered during Valentine’s Day this year, Mr Pau and I came to nydc for dinner. You’ll be glad to know nydc’s pricing is quite reasonable for its quality. Boo Boo – Rich chocolate mousse cake with piped swirls of… Read More
Bugis Junction Food Trail #5: Kazokutei
And here we are! Halfway through the Bugis Junction Food Trail. #5 in the food trail is Kazokutei. Kazokutei is established since 1947, and is one of Osaka’s famous brands of udon restaurant. They pride themselves in making delicious and quality handmade udon. Healthy cooking methods were also used to bring out the natural taste of the noodles. I always love looking at this display whenever I pass by the restaurant. LOL. We were given each a sampling portion of the famous handmade udon and soba, together with some sushi 🙂 I am not a fan of udon, so I… Read More
