Macarons remain as the favourite dainty dessert for me! I did these macarons in a cute bunny shape for my friend's son, together with a cake she has ordered. I hope they like them! … [Read more...]

Rainbow Shooting Star Macarons
Just photos sharing today :)I had not been blogging quite consistently because I was busy brainstorming ideas for my bakes + making artwork designs for my Society6 and Etsy stores. To top it all, I was being diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my recent gynae visit. Oh the horror (of all pregnant mummies)....I was trying to cope with the news on that day itself, and then learning to adjust to the new diet given to me. The body was really like detoxing all the carbs and sugar, and I felt … [Read more...]
Totoro Macarons with Raspberry Mascarpone Filling
Had an order for my neighbour's 1 year old daughter's birthday celebration! She requested for Totoro cupcakes and rainbow cookies, and I was quite happy to start on this last order before my EDD :)Inspired by the Totoro toppers, I had wanted to make some macarons for her, as I thought I would have time. However, I didn't realise that I would take double the usual time I used to take to make the cookies and fondant toppers! So I only manage to make the macarons later in the day.I had wanted to … [Read more...]
Kiiroitori Macarons
Actually character macarons are quite fun! And so cute to look at :)This time, I tried out Kiiroitori macarons, using pumpkin powder as natural food coloring. So the color of the macaron shells turned out to be light yellow.Kiiroitori is one of the characters in Rilakkuma series, and it's really so cute! I also think that it's relatively easy for beginners into character macarons. To make these easy macarons, you simply need: yellow macaron batter + 1 tbsp orange macaron batter. I have used about … [Read more...]
Mashimaro Macarons
Made some Mashimaro macarons yesterday!I had wanted to try making character macarons, but I didn't have the patience, and was afraid of failing lol..These macarons were made using plain macaron shells, sandwiched with dark chocolate ganache. You can do the drawings on the shells after the shells have cooled completely. To pipe the Mashimaro shells, simply pipe out circles first. Then using a smaller tip piping bag, pipe out the ears on top of the circles. For the matching shells, you can just … [Read more...]
Coffee Macarons
Sometime last week, there was this instructor meeting, and one of the instructors shared her macarons recipe. It makes use of the Swiss meringue method, and does not require drying!Usually after learning something new, I will try to practise again by the following week, so I can remember better hahaha. So I decided to just make plain shells to test out the recipe and my oven, dusted some cocoa powder on it, and then filled with coffee ganache. Next time I probably will try to add in some cocoa or … [Read more...]
Tips on Making Professional Looking Macarons
Lately I have been on a macaron craze, and trying out various macaron recipes!I find that there would be some desserts, which if we do not make frequently, we may lose touch on. If you're new to making macarons, and would really want to take on this adventure, check out this post for a relatively fail-proof recipe. Once you've sort of master the making of macarons, try out these tips to … [Read more...]
Chocolate Ganache Macaron
Decided to try out another macaron recipe, since I had some time yesterday :)I think I prefer my previous macaron recipe. It was much chewier with a better macaron taste. This macaron is slightly sweeter, I feel. It also tastes a little different from the usual macarons. However, I find that this macaron is quite fail-proof, so it's totally recommended for beginners! If you accidentally overbake the macs, simply sandwich them with buttercream or ganache, and they would soften overnight in the … [Read more...]
Macarons
It has been a while since I last baked - okay, food for baby is not included! Ha!! As I would be ending my work this coming week, I am still not quite adjusted for the new lifestyle and routine ahead. I guess I am still feeling uncertain at times, but I'll take it to the Lord. I know God will grant me His strength :)Sometimes I miss the earlier days during the OMYSG best cooking competition and SCS competition - for my never-say-die spirit. I am thankful for some invitations, but I will be also … [Read more...]
