Easy homemade strawberry sauce you can make in 15 mins, which can be used as topping for ice cream, cheesecakes, pancakes, trifles!
Lately I have been seeing strawberries in the supermarket, and here is what you can do with extra strawberries, if you buy in bulk!
This homemade strawberry sauce is easy and quick to make. It is also bursting in flavor, which I find really good to add flavor to your desserts, pancakes, or even in yogurt and granola for breakfast!
What Ingredients Do I Need To Make This Strawberry Sauce?
You can make the strawberry sauce easily with just 4 ingredients! You can also add in some vanilla extract to taste.
How Can I Make It?
You will just need to toss all ingredients together in the sauce pan. Set aside for 5 – 10 mins, before cooking over the stove (medium-low heat), for about 10 mins. It’s that simple!
I pressed the cut strawberries against the pot as I cooked, because I wanted a more liquid consistency. You can also blend the sauce after cooking to get a consistency with no fruit chunk. If you enjoy larger chunks of fruits in the sauce, do not mash the strawberries while cooking.
Do note that the liquid in the pot may dry out if you use high heat to cook. So place some water by the side while you cook, and add it in if the liquid is drying out. This can help prevent burning. Also, remember to stir constantly.
How Can I Use The Strawberry Sauce?
You can use it as a topping for ice cream (sundae) or panna cotta, on cheesecakes, pancakes, layered cake dessert, or even in yogurt for breakfast!
This strawberry sauce also freezes well, so you can separate the sauce into smaller containers and freeze for later use!
