Made some Mashimaro macarons yesterday!
I had wanted to try making character macarons, but I didn’t have the patience, and was afraid of failing lol..
These macarons were made using plain macaron shells, sandwiched with dark chocolate ganache. You can do the drawings on the shells after the shells have cooled completely.
To pipe the Mashimaro shells, simply pipe out circles first. Then using a smaller tip piping bag, pipe out the ears on top of the circles. For the matching shells, you can just pipe out circles.
I find that these Mashimaro macarons are considered relatively easy for character macarons 🙂
Dark Chocolate Ganache
(Fills about 10-12 macarons)
– 40g to 45g dark chocolate chips
– 15g whipping cream
1. Pour dark chocolate chips and whipping cream into a medium bowl.
2. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir constantly with a spatula or wooden spoon, until the chocolate chips melt uniformly.
3. Remove from heat, let cool completely before filling macarons.
