Sometime back when I was in my previous work, I read about Theresa’s story. I was touched by her story on the publicity material, so I read more about her story on her blog.
Theresa talked openly about how she discovered she had breast cancer, her fears, her treatments and facing the fact that she lost one of her breasts to the cancer.
Probably due to the fact that I knew people who were cancer patients, and I know their pain. All the more for breast cancer patients. And yes, cancer can be a very devastating disease for anyone to face.
Sometime back, I received a tweet from Su Ann, asking if I would be interested to blog about the Pink Ribbon Walk 2013, I knew it has got to be a YES! 🙂
The Walk is held by the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF), a non-profit charity organisation set up since 1997. BCF believes in creating awareness and education in breast cancer, and having various support programmes for people who are affected by breast cancer.
Show your support by joining the Pink Ribbon Walk 2013. Every participation is a significant form of support towards raising breast cancer awareness. You might not know, but it can also be a form of support towards breast cancer survivors, and raising funds to further enhance the BCF support group programmes and awareness outreach.
The 4.1km Pink Ribbon Walk will be held on 28 Sep (Sat) at 5pm, Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade. There is an early bird price $32 (Usual $38) if you register by 15 Aug 2013. All participants will also get to receive a goodie bag and T-shirt, while stocks last.
This Walk is not only for ladies, but also for grandfathers, fathers, husbands, brothers, and boyfriends to show their support towards breast cancer patients and survivors.
So gather all your friends, register for the walk now! 🙂
